FIDM Orange County 2015 Open House: Nick Verreos "Special Appearance"--FIDM Orange County

This past weekend, I went to the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM Orange County campus for their Open House event. As a proud graduate of FIDM and the college's Official Spokesperson, I LOVE visiting the FIDM campuses especially during their great "3 Days of Fashion" Summer programs and Open Houses.

The FIDM Open House is a day-long event geared for high school (as well as post-graduate) individuals interested in a career in Fashion Design, Visual Communications, Product Development, as well as all the other majors offered by FIDM. It's a way to "get to know" the college, it's instructors/faculty, alumni, and facilities. Speaking of facilities, check out these from the FIDM OC campus:

Student Projects: These are samples of student projects from the FIDM OC 2015 Open House--FIDM Orange County

Chairing Styles: There's a wonderful display of Chairing Styles, a unique collaboration of 30 students; 10 Textile Design, 10 Fashion Design and 10 Interior Design. The students are paired in teams of three to create a collaboration and an end product that is quite unique. A Textile Designer creates the textile. A Fashion Designer uses that textile to create a dress. An Interior Designer uses that same textile to design a chair. Some of this year's "Chairing Styles" designs are on display at the FIDM Orange County campus

Last week was the beginning of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM "3 Days of Fashion" Summer Program taking place at all the College's four campuses. Every Summer, FIDM hold the "3 Days of Fashion" program which provides high school students a "window" into having a great career in Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, Marketing, Social Media, Fashion Buying and Merchandising with workshops involving Draping, Concept to Consumer, Creating a Promotional Campaign, Sketching among others.

As the official spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM--and as former student, instructor and Grad, I love making Special Guest appearances at all the four campuses at the end of the "3 Days of Fashion". I talk about what it was like for me to attend FIDM, my life after FIDM and give my own 'Nick Tips" on having a successful career in the Fashion Industry. oh and I also MC a "capsule" Fashion Show of my designs.
