Hope everyone had a wonderful--and very safe--July 4th Weekend. As you may know (if you have been keeping up with my blog here), for the last two weeks I have been traveling to all the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM campuses for this year's "3 Days of Fashion" Summer Program. Finishing my Blog Recaps of the FIDM "3 Days of Fashion", it's time for FIDM San Diego!

It's always nice to visit the FIDM San Diego campus: my partner--David Paul's--family lives in San Diego so he gets some "family time", and that's always wonderful. In terms of the event, this year's "3 Days of Fashion" was extra special because it was held in the penthouse (15th floor) of the building where the FIDM San Diego campus is at.

In case you don't know, the San Diego campus is right NEXT TO Petco Park (Hello!), and in one of the most sought-after neighborhoods in San Diego--the Downtown Gaslamp District. Lots of students attended this year's "3 Days" Summer program and for my appearance, I also brought some of my NIKOLAKI gowns and NV Nick Verreos EVINE LIVE designs....

As you might know from reading my blog this past week, it's FIDM "3 Days of Fashion" Summer Program time and I have been visiting all the campuses as a Special Guest; talking about my time as a student at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, giving advice to students on how to achieve their best and also showing some of my designs. The Dad Catwalk Contest: Before I began talking about my experience at FIDM and how I "got to where I got" in my career, I wanted to have some "Runway Fun" so....I MC'ed a "Dads Catwalk Contest" (it's become a tradition now). The dads were VERY into it as you will see from the photos below(!) but first I showed them a quick example of how to "walk the runway"...

Last week was the beginning of the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM "3 Days of Fashion" Summer Program taking place at all the College's four campuses. Every Summer, FIDM hold the "3 Days of Fashion" program which provides high school students a "window" into having a great career in Fashion Design, Fashion Styling, Marketing, Social Media, Fashion Buying and Merchandising with workshops involving Draping, Concept to Consumer, Creating a Promotional Campaign, Sketching among others.

As the official spokesperson for the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising/FIDM--and as former student, instructor and Grad, I love making Special Guest appearances at all the four campuses at the end of the "3 Days of Fashion". I talk about what it was like for me to attend FIDM, my life after FIDM and give my own 'Nick Tips" on having a successful career in the Fashion Industry. oh and I also MC a "capsule" Fashion Show of my designs.
