WHO WORE WHAT?.....Met Gala 2015: Fan Bingbing, Sarah Jessica Parker, Chloe Sevigny, Zendaya + More!

Fan Bingbing in Christopher Bu--Now this is how you GIVE it!!! At the Met Gala 2015. Actress--and Fashion Diva--Fan Bingbing is always known to give 110% when it comes to the red carpet, and tonight's Met Gala was no exception. She wore a gold and copper sequined gown with a multicolored coat. I know the theme was "Asiana-inspired Diva" (or that's what I deem it to be!), but Bingbing is somehow vibing a bit of Nefertiti and Cleopatra with this AMAAAZING coat.

Sarah Jessica Parker in H & M and Philip Treacy--How do I say this politely? Ummm, no. Now, let me begin: I love me some SJP and I know that she has become known for her fab/over the top Philip Treacy headdresses at the Met Galas but...I do like this headdress style, I'm just not a fan of this H & M one shoulder gown. The dress seems like something a fashion school student would have created. No offense to the fashion school student; more of diss on the H & M design team. Oh, and should I even discuss the ripply seams??? Maybe not.

Chloe Sevigny in J W Anderson--I kinda love this strapless look on Chloe. She's very 1920s/1930's-Indiana-Jones-Lady-Friend in this ensemble.

Georgia May Jagger in Gucci--OK, first of all, I do like this dress--it's very Chinoiserie Chic and therefore fits the bill for the theme of the night. I also appreciate the strappy shoe design that is also inspired by traditional Chinese flats. I just wish she would put on a smile. You're the trust funder model daughter of Rock Legend Mick Jagger and Fashion Icon Jerry Hall, you should smile darling.

Karolina Kurkova in Tommy Hilfiger--I think this is a Met Gala Red Carpet No! I get that it's Karolia Kurkova and she's got LEGS that go on for DAYS!!!! And I do LOVE those shoes! (Sooooo Fab!), but...this Tommy Hilfilger (we all know HE didn't really design this...PUHLEEASE!), makes her look like she works at the bar of a Las Vegas Casino. I know that sounds harsh but seriously!!??

Zendaya in Fausto Puglisi--I'm kinda loving this look on Zendaya. It's very "Versace Vintage circa 1992". For that alone, I'm giving both Zendaya and designer Fausto Puglisi points!

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Met Gala 2015: Lady Gaga in Balenciaga Custom by Alexander Wang

Lady Gaga in Balenciaga designed by Alexander Wang

Tonight was the 2015 Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala, a fundraiser to benefit the  Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute. This year's exhibit is titled "China: Through The Looking Glass". The Met's site explains that the exhibition "explore the impact of Chinese aesthetics on Western fashion, and how China has fueled the fashionable imagination for centuries. High fashion will be juxtaposed with Chinese costumes, paintings, porcelains, and other art, including films, to reveal enchanting reflections of Chinese imagery". It is interesting that a lot of the fashions on display will be from Western designers and how they were "inspired" by Chinoiserie.

In terms of the Gala, there are lots of A-list celebs and fashion designers invited and then there are the people who have to pay $25,000 for a ticket. The celebs and designers get in for free via Miss Anna Wintour. Lucky them. Moving on...

Now, time for tonight's Red Carpet and the Who Wore What? Let's begin with the one-and-only Lady Gaga...

Lady Gaga--with Balenciaga designer Alexander Wang (above)--Lady Gaga wore a black silk and sequined jumpsuit with a scooped neckline and a ivory and black silk duchesse satin and sequined "Opera coat". The look was finished with a gorgeous sequined headdress--and that "exotic" makeup! Alexander Wang is the current designer for Balenciaga, and he did not hold back when designing for Gaga.  I loved it! What did you guys think?

WHO WORE WHAT?....2015 Premios Billboard Latin Billboard Awards, the HOMBRES--The Muy Bueno and Uh Oh!

Los Boys: Which ones are "Muy Bueno" and which ones...not so mucheey???--2015 Latin Billboard Awards Red Carpet, Miami

In my last post, I wrote about las muchachas (the ladies) of Friday night's 2015 Latin Billboard Awards Red Carpet (or White Carpet), now it's time for the MEN. Let's see who made my Best Dressed List and who was Boy-Chonchee! (in other words, the No-No List).

I want to begin with Marc Anthony...

Marc Anthony: I'm not a fan of Marc Anthony's style most of the time but here he looks pretty good. I like the white jacket/black pants look but I am soooo not a fan of the sunglasses (soooo 1990's!) Also, those pants are too long; the wrinkle-ing happening at the knee and ankle are signs that he should have hem-ed those pants about 2/3 inches (or at least his stylist' assistants should have done that). #TheyShouldBeFired

Pedro Fernandez: Mexican Latin Grammy Award winning recording artist Pedro Fernandez wore a very nice tuxedo for the Premios Billboard 2015. I think he looked quite dapper and elegant. I would have wished to have seen about 1/2" of the sleeves of his shirt peek through his jacket sleeve and maybe a white pocket hankie. Oh, and yeah, he should have only button ONE button--the top one. But oh well, he got it 75% bien!

Luis Fonsi in Tom Ford: Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi wore a blue "tuxedo"-inspired suit with black satin lapels from Tom Ford. I like the suit but on Luis, the fit and tailoring looks kind of sloppy. The Tom Ford tailors should have overseen this. First off, the jacket could be a teeny bit more fitted at the waist and the sleeves are a bit too long. Speaking of long, just look at that crease on the pants. I would have hemmed it about 3/4"-1" more.

Gabriel Porras: Mexican actor Gabriel Porras wore this midnight blue tuxedo jacket with black tuxedo pants. I love the length and skinny/lean fit of the pants. Muy Bien! And I also liked the shawl collared jacket. Overall, Gabriel did it quite right!

Enrique Usales: Telemundo on-air talent Enrique Usales wore a purple tuxedo suit with black satin lapels. I liked the suit; it's modern, skinny fit and just right for him. The only problem I have is his belt. Now, I love a LOGO designer belt (I own waaay too many Gucci and Hermes ones!) but I think for this look, he should have stuck to a non-logo belt buckle that would have just blended in and not draw attention to that area.

Uh Oh-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Christian Acosta: Connecticut-born Colombian-American singer Christian Acosta wore this white "Dinner Jacket" with black pants ensemble for the 2015 Premios Billboard. I love this look but for some reason, on Christian, it didn't work and I know why: it's the black shirt with black tie. The black-on-black is a bit "Sopranos"-esque and instead, he should have just worn a white shirt with the black skinny tie. Instead of looking like the son of a sketchy Russian arms dealer (which is what he reminds me of in this above), he would have looked elegant and directional and "Mad Men"-inspired (with my suggestion).

Augusto Valverde: Actor/Writer --and according to IMDb voted "Best Event Promoter" (?) by Telemundo--Augusto Valverde wore this purple/blue suit and fuchsia gingham shirt to the 2015 Premios Billboard white carpet. It's a nice look...if you are having a late afternoon dinner al fresco in Sardinia. But not for the Latin Billboard Awards. How do you say #Fail in Spanish?

Rafael Amaya: Mexican actor/singer/model (he's the TRIFECTA!) Rafael Amaya, wore this gray suit with a white unbuttoned shirt, brown belt...and that perfect Crest White Strips smile of his. While no one can deny that he is a total CUTIE (!), this look is a bit too casual. Put on a tie and add a pocket scarf and then we can LIKEY-LIKEY!

Coreon Du: Angolan singer/creative director/producer/entrepreneur wore this printed suit inspired by his native Angola and the fabulous fabrics from that continent. I LOVE that print--the bold red and flamingo-like images are super-fab! And the suit fits very well; I am sure it was custom. But what I din't necessary like was the choice of footwear and shirt. That suit should be THE STAR; don't wear anything else to fight with it.

Jonathan Moly: Venezuelan singer--and son of former Miss Venezuela Ines Maria Calero--wore this look and it was not cute. I like the bright red jacket and black pants but...the gray/silver tie is a bit "mafioso"-tacky and the fact that he didn't even tuck in his shirt: Ayyyyy Dios Mio!

Finally...REALLY NO:

Los Really BAD: I have no idea who these three men are but...I don't even care. These are THREE Red (or White) Carpet Fashion Crimes: Hammer-Time Meets Michael Jackson meets Tropical Hip Hop Bad Meets Croq skin Moto jacket-and-hat D-bag.

A) Please don't dress like this again;

B) Please don't put your hand near your crotch, and

C) No gold tassel epaulets on any jacket are acceptable except if you are in a marching band in Pasadena's Rose Parade.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....Premios Billboard 2015 Latin Billboard Awards, Las Ladies, The Muy Bien and Chonchee-licious!

Las Muchachas Good: The "Muy Bien" White Carpet Divas of the 2015 Premios Billboard Awards/Latin Billboard Awards--Bank United Center Miami Florida

The 2015 Premios Billboard/Latin Billboard Awards were last night, televised live on Telemundo--the Spanish language sister network of NBC/Universal from the Bank United Center in Miami Florida. The awards show celebrates the best in Latino music and is one of the highest rated music programs on the Telemundo network. Naturally, a lot of the presenters and red carpet attendees are from...you guessed it...the Telemundo/NBC/Universal family.  Now, time for the good stuff: the RED CARPET. For the 2015 Premios Billboard, it was actually a WHITE CARPET and here are my Top Faves of the MUCHACHAS (the ladies) and toward the end of the blog...

The Not-So-Mucheey Muy Bueno. Or as I like to say, the CHONCHEE--2015 Premios Billboard, United Bank Center Miami Florida

Let's begin with the GOOD and the one-and-only, La JLo:

Jennifer Lopez in Zihair Murad Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2014: Leave it to Miss Jennifer Lopez to WURK it. She is SERVING it in this white silk tulle applique jumpsuit and silk crepe cape from Lebanese Couturier Zuhair Murad and his Spring/Summer 2014 collection. This complete look would probably set you back about $45,000+; it's all hand-made and yes, part of the designer's Haute Couture collection and it is FABULOUSLY chic! Everything--from the outfit, to her red nails to the clutch, rings and makeup and hair...is PERFECTO!

Shannon de Lima: Marc Anthony's wife, model Shannon de Lima wore this peach colored sequined chiffon gown with a side front slit, waistband and peek-a-boo keyhole halter neckline/top detail. The gown was very Beauty Pageant Queen--and in a good way. I loved her center-parted hairstyle and the fact that it wasn't all "Pageant pouffy"; that would have been almost redundant since she was wearing such a pageant-like gown. I also give her points for some of her accessories: I liked the simple silver clutch and silver strappy heels but I think she didn't need all those rings and bracelets but I'm sure they were very expensive diamonds loaned to her so she probably felt that she had to wear them.

Carmen Villalobos: Colombian telenovela actress Carmen Villalobos wore this pretty stunning and dramatic gown at last night's "2015 Premios Billboard". The gown is from Venezuelan designer-who-shows-at-Paris-Couture-Week Oscar Carvallo and his Oscar Carvallo Couture Fall/Winter 2013 collection. I thought the style was impacting and the fit (perfect length and the torso!) is impeccable. If you notice on the runway model, it seemed a bit short and the breasts were "peeking" out from the copper/gold torso bustier. Gracias a Dios that wasn't happening to the lovely Carmen!

Natalia Jimenez: Spanish singer Natalia Jimenez wore this ensemble above last night. It was a combination of a Balmain Fall 2015 top and a Valentino skirt that she supposedly "designed". I liked this look on Natalia. She looked chic, ethereal yet sexy. It was interesting that she combined such an UBER sexy look from Balmain and such a Boho Couture look from Valentino. Here are images I found from both...

Balmain (far left) and Valentino collections (Fall 2015 and Pre-Fall 2015, middle and far right) These pieces show you "hints" of Natalia's look. From my research, it does seem that the skirt was "custom" and while I am not discrediting Natalia's possible fashion designer future career, I am sure it was the Valentino design team of Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli that suggested this look for her and she was like, "Si!".

Gaby Espino in Gustavo Arango: Venezuelan model and telenovela actress Gaby Espino wore a royal blue halter neckline gown from Colombia-born/Puerto Rico-raised designer Gustavo Arango. The actress, who was styled by Claudia Zuleta, looks quite nice in this gown. The style is simple, classic and yet still sexy-licious. I also loved her hair and makeup. Muy bien Gaby!

Silver Good: Marcia Jones and Kary Musa--these two ladies looked great in silver. Let's begin with actress, model and former Miss Colombia 2010 contestant Marcia Jones Brango (left): I thought her silver and nude gown fit her quite nice and well, this former beauty queen sure knows how to pose in that gown! I also liked Colombian actress and singer Kary Musa in this silver sequined gown; the fit was perfect and the styling--her side slicked hair and simple earrings and bracelet--were right on trend.

Cynthia Olavarria: Actress, TV host and former Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2005 looked like a High Fashion Disney Princess in this gold tulle and lame satin ball gown. I liked this silhouette and if anyone is going to pull off all that volume, it would be Cynthia! The dress seems a bit Prom-a-Licious but I still thing she worked it out. It's not a 9.9 but maybe a 8.6, which is still quite BUENO!

Maritza Rodriguez: Colombian telenovela actress Maritza Rodriguez makes my "Muy Bueno" list in this black sequins and nude gown from Abu Dabi -based designer Charbel Karam. I liked the style and fit.

Sofia Reyes: 19 year-old Mexican singer Sofia Reyes looked  quite pretty in this lime green column gown with contrast torso detail. I liked the side peek-a-boo's (not too revealing!) and the Versace-like styling. I really liked this!

Rashel Diaz: Telemundo presenter Rashel Diaz wore this canary yellow gown from designer Gustavo Arango. Rashel was styled by Claudia Zuleta, just like actress Gaby Espino. I liked this strapless gown with peplum detail. The dress fit her nicely (perfect length) and the color was a stand-out!

Roselyn Sanchez: The gorgeous Roselyn wore this asymmetrical strawberry red jersey gown and I thought it was GREAT! Supposedly, the dress was from Givenchy. I could not find a photo from a recent Givenchy collection for the life of me but I she looks fantastic.

Marta Sanchez: Spanish singer (and Donatella Versace doppelganger--sans all the surgery!) Marta Sanchez makes my "Best Dressed" because A) she looked GREAT! and B) she WURKED that White Carpet! I thought the dress itself was a bit of a "Meh"--black side slit gown with halter neckline and odd arm detail--on another person this could have gone "Vegas cheap Tacky-licious" but leave it to Marta to make it look semi-classy. Big emphasis on "Semi".

The Uh Oh!-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi-Lo No: These two lovely ladies did not give themselves any Positive Fashion Points by wearing these dresses.  They both look like they went to a Sale Rack of a department store to buy these. Or a Prom Store in Ft. Lauderdale. On a positive note: I really liked their shoes! Yay for that!

Jessica Cerezo and Santaye: These two ladies were Applique No-No's. Jessica Cerezo (left) looks like a Mother-of-the-Bride and Santaye knows IT AIN'T GOOD when she has to place that clutch right around HER CHA-CHA to cover that wardrobe malfunction.

Ivy Queen: MIJA!!! What. Are. You. Thinking???? This is a Bird/Savage Queen No. The only thing I like about this is that Louis Vuitton clutch.

Isabella Castillo: Oh Isabella. What tacky Prom did you think you were attending??? I really hope that A) You didn't pay for this and B) a Freshman at some Fashion School made this....at least those are good excuses. It's a No-No.

When glamour meets rock

EN
This skirt is so old I do not even remember since I have it, but every year I rediscover it and reinvent it. It is so versatile, the pleats which are so in fashion this year gives a vintage air and makes it very ladylike , the metallic inserts add preciousness and the high waist gives femininity and elegance. It can be worn in multiply combinations classic, glam, rock or Boohoo style. In my typical style I have chosen the rock -chic style in which I feel the most comfortable and which represents me so bad. I marked the waist with a belt having metal elements which comes around twice (if I struggled a bit I think goes 3 times :) ) a plain white t-short; just between you and me we I have developed an obsession for white t- shirts I never feel like I have enough so I don't miss any opportunity to buy more and more of these. A XL  bag for day time in which I have thousand of things, my bags weighed a ton, I'm carrying all sorts of things in the idea that "maybe I might need" and often I do not use anything of them. Lots of bracelets and the biker jacket which is a must have in general and a signature when comes to rock-chic outfits.
Till the next time I let you relax with this track that I rediscovered by chance.
Hug you all with love!

Multe bratari si geaca de biker care este un must have in general si o semnatura in tinutele rock-chic.
Pana data viitoare va las sa va relaxati cu aceasta piesa pe care am redescoperit-o intamplator.
Va imbratisez cu drag!
